Think spring, Tribute to Heritage. Think fresh crisp granny apples, naturally sweet bee-seducing honey suckle, and juicy ripe pears. Put it all together and you have liquid sunshine called Riesling. The first wine Paul and Merrill shared was a German Riesling. Rieslings became popular in the US after the military returned from World War II bringing the wonderfully floral German white wine with them. It was a good beginning wine and easy to drink with any food. This is a Father and Son Cuvee which means it was the first wine blended by Paul VI and Paul VII as a team. Mrs. Bush served the Messina Hof Riesling at the Senator Wives Luncheon she hosted in Washington, D.C., during her husband's presidency.
Grown in High Plains Vineyard, Messina Hof's Riesling is blended with Moscato. This wine is fresh and delicate with floral aromas.
It brings out the flavors of spicy, German and Oriental dishes, Cajun or blackened seafood and low-fat cuisine.
Voted Texas' Top Wine at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition, Gold at Texas' Best Wine Competition and Grapefest People's Choice Tasting Classic.
Serve chilled at 45 degrees.
